Little Face, by Sophie Hannah

What if you left your two week old baby alone with your husband for a couple of hours and returned to find she’d been abducted and replaced with a different baby? That is the imaginative premise of Hannah’s novel, “Little Face.”

Nobody believes Alice Fancourt when she says that her daughter has been switched, including her husband. She goes on a desperate quest to prove her baby was kidnapped. As the investigation unfolds mysteries regarding Alice and her husband surface leaving the reader with unsettling questions.

Hannah’s prose is quick and lively and the plot’s twists and turns keep you turning the page in anticipation. I loved the story. I was impressed with the plot and enjoyed it all the way to the end.

This is a book I would definitely recommend. Just as a warning, there are some disturbing scenes that are not for the faint of heart and there is a little foul language. Overall, it was an amazing read.
