Matched, by Ally Condie

This book was like a breath of fresh air. It was so different from any other young adult dystopian book out there. “Matched” is about teenager, Cassia, who lives under the rule of the Society. The story begins at Cassia’s matching ceremony where she will find out the boy she will one day marry. Lucky for her, she is matched with her best friend, Xander. However, when she goes home and puts her matching card in to find out more information, a different boy’s face flashes on the screen. This boy lives in her district and is named Ky. This mistake causes Cassia to question what she has always been taught to believe about life, love and the rules set out for her.

I love how this book challenges young readers to think about setting out a course for their own life. How it makes you think about taking control over your own destiny and dreams.

This was a fast paced read. I finished it in a mere few days. I am sucker for forbidden love and love trianges, so that pulled me in like a magnet. I highly recommend this book.
